Sometimes. The signer must understand what the document is and be able to communicate their intent at the time of signing. We assess this respectfully and privately. A diagnosis alone doesn't disqualify someone, but we won't proceed if the signer can't demonstrate understanding.

Do you coordinate with facility staff?

Yes. We check in through the front desk, follow visitor protocols, and coordinate with the charge nurse when helpful — including picking a time of day when the resident is most alert.

What ID does the resident need?

A current, unexpired government-issued photo ID. Many residents keep an expired license — if that's the case, contact us first and we'll walk through the options before scheduling.

Can family members attend?

Yes, and it often helps. Family members named in the document generally shouldn't serve as witnesses, but they're welcome to be present.

How long does a facility visit take?

Usually 20–40 minutes, including check-in and time to make sure the resident is comfortable and unhurried.

Transparent pricing

Every appointment starts at $100.00 and includes up to two signers plus standard-area travel. A scheduling fee may be added to the base price based on when you'd like to meet — scheduling fees apply per appointment (not per document), and only the highest applicable fee is ever charged.

A $75 deposit reserves your appointment and is applied toward your final invoice. The balance is invoiced after the signing is complete.

A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your appointment. This deposit is applied toward the total cost of your scheduled service, with the remaining balance due at the appointment. If you cancel your appointment for any reason, the $50 deposit will be retained to cover scheduling, administrative costs, and reserved appointment time. If Straub Document Group LLC is unable to fulfill your appointment, including being unable to provide requested witnesses, your $50 deposit will be refunded in full. If you need to reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible. Rescheduling is subject to availability and approval by Straub Document Group LLC.
