Terms & Payment Policies
Please review the policies below before booking. Booking an appointment requires acknowledgment of these terms.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Deposits become non-refundable if the appointment is canceled less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time. Cancellations made 24 hours or more before the appointment are eligible for a refund of the deposit.
The 24-hour window is measured from the scheduled appointment start time in Central Time. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method and typically appear within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.
A same-day appointment is already inside the 24-hour window, so its deposit is non-refundable as soon as it is paid.
Rescheduling is not a cancellation. If you move your appointment to a new time instead of canceling, your deposit carries over at no charge.
Separately from the 24-hour rule, a deposit is forfeited as a travel charge if the appointment is canceled after we have already traveled to your location, or if the notarization cannot be completed because a signer lacks valid identification or the capacity to sign.
To cancel, reply to any appointment email or text, or call (612) 552-1186. The time your cancellation is received is the time used to determine refund eligibility.

A deposit reserves your appointment and is credited toward the final invoice.

Same-Day Appointments

Weekday After-Hours Scheduling Fee — +$25
Applies to Monday–Friday appointments before 8:00 AM or after 5:00 PM. Added to the base price of the selected service and applies per appointment, not per document.
Weekend & Holiday Scheduling Fee — +$50
Applies to appointments on Saturdays, Sundays, or recognized holidays. The weekend or holiday surcharge applies on recognized federal holidays and on the federally observed weekday when a fixed-date holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday. Added to the base price of the selected service and applies per appointment, not per document.
Rush Scheduling Fee — +$75
Applies when an appointment is requested within 2 hours of the desired appointment time. Scheduling fees are never stacked — only the highest applicable fee is charged.
Credit Card Processing Fee
A $4.95 processing fee is added to all payments made by credit or debit card. This fee helps cover card processing costs and is waived for payments made by cash or check.
Mobile Notary Pricing
Non-real-estate mobile notary appointments follow the pricing structure below. Loan signings and real estate closings are quoted per package and do not automatically add these scheduling fees.

Witnesses are not guaranteed. Straub Document Group will make every reasonable effort to provide witnesses when requested, but availability cannot be guaranteed for every appointment. Witness requirements depend on the specific document and requesting agency — not every document requires witnesses.

Totals shown are starting prices for up to two signers. Only one scheduling fee is ever charged per appointment — if multiple conditions apply, only the highest fee is used. Additional signers, statutory notarial fees, and extended-area travel are quoted when your appointment is confirmed.
How Pricing Works
Mobile notary appointments start at $75 ($100 for hospital, hospice, nursing home, jail, and emergency visits) and include up to two signers plus standard-area travel. Additional signers are $10 each beginning with the third signer, Minnesota statutory notarial fees apply where required by law, and appointments outside the standard service area may incur an additional travel fee.
One scheduling fee may be added per appointment based on the appointment time. Scheduling fees are added to the base price of the selected service and apply per appointment, not per document. They are never stacked — if multiple conditions apply (for example, a Saturday appointment requested within two hours), only the highest applicable scheduling fee is charged.
Loan signings and real estate closings use their own quoted pricing and are not subject to the scheduling-fee structure above.
Example invoice format: Base service price + scheduling fee (if applicable) + travel fee (if applicable) + statutory notarial fees (if applicable) = total due.
Workflow: You request an appointment → we approve and quote → you pay a deposit to reserve the time → the signing takes place → a final invoice is sent for the remaining balance.
Witnesses & Identification
Some legal documents require witnesses in addition to notarization. Requirements vary by document type and the lender, title company, attorney, court, or agency requesting the document — not every document requires witnesses.
Witnesses are not guaranteed. Straub Document Group will make every reasonable effort to provide witnesses when requested. However, availability cannot be guaranteed for every appointment. If witnesses are critical to your signing, we recommend bringing your own.
Witnesses provided by Straub Document Group. When we supply the witnesses, the fee is $50 per witness, with a maximum of two witnesses per appointment. There is no witness fee if witnesses are not required.
Customer-provided witnesses. Each witness must be at least 18 years old, be physically present during the signing, bring valid government-issued photo identification, be willing to sign the document as a witness, and meet any eligibility requirements imposed by the document or applicable law. A $20 fee per customer-provided witness applies to verify the witness's government-issued identification, administer oaths, and confirm the witness meets the applicable legal requirements.

- Driver's License issued by another U.S. state or territory
- Minnesota Identification Card
- State Identification Card issued by another U.S. state or territory
- United States Passport
- United States Passport Card
- United States Military Identification containing a photograph and signature
- Federally Recognized Tribal Identification meeting Minnesota requirements
Identification must be current or otherwise acceptable under Minnesota notarial law. The notary may refuse identification that is expired beyond legal limits, altered, damaged, or insufficient to establish identity. Where permitted by Minnesota law, identity may also be established through personal knowledge or a qualified credible witness.
SMS/Text Messaging
SMS consent is optional. Our forms include a separate, unchecked SMS consent box. You are never required to agree to SMS messaging in order to submit a form, book an appointment, pay a deposit, or receive any service. We record consent only when you affirmatively check that box.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase.
Mobile numbers and SMS consent information are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. If you opt out, we will continue to reach you by email or phone about your appointment.
