Transparent pricing

Every appointment starts at $75.00 and includes up to two signers plus standard-area travel. A scheduling fee may be added to the base price based on when you'd like to meet — scheduling fees apply per appointment (not per document), and only the highest applicable fee is ever charged.

A $50 deposit reserves your appointment and is applied toward your final invoice. The balance is invoiced after the signing is complete.

Deposits become non-refundable if the appointment is canceled less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time. Cancellations made 24 hours or more before the appointment are eligible for a refund of the deposit.

Frequently asked

What documents can be notarized?
Almost anything requiring an acknowledgment, jurat, oath, affirmation, or copy certification — real estate documents, powers of attorney, affidavits, parental consents, DMV forms, and more. If a stamp is involved, we've probably handled it.
What identification is accepted?
A current, unexpired government-issued photo ID: driver's license, state ID, U.S. passport, passport card, military ID, or tribal ID. Every signer needs their own.
How many signers are included?
The base fee covers up to two signers; each additional signer in the same visit is $10. Groups are handled in a single appointment whenever possible.
How long does an appointment take?
Most mobile notary appointments run 15–30 minutes. Complex packages with multiple documents may take slightly longer.
Do you travel outside the Twin Cities?
Yes. Our standard service area is all of Dakota County plus surrounding communities within approximately 25 miles of Farmington, Minnesota. You can still book online for locations up to about 50 miles away — an Extended Travel Fee of $2.50 per additional one-way mile is calculated automatically and shown before you confirm. Farther than that, call us and we'll quote availability and travel.
Do you provide hospital or nursing home service?
Yes — we handle bedside signings at hospitals, hospices, assisted living, and nursing homes. Those visits use our facility rate to account for coordination and access.
What happens after I submit my request?
We review your details, confirm availability, and reply by text or email with a firm time and any prep instructions. A small deposit reserves the appointment; the balance is invoiced after completion.
Can I text my documents before the appointment?
Absolutely — texting a photo or PDF ahead of time helps us prepare, confirm the correct notarial act, and arrive ready to go.
How fast can you arrive?
Most Twin Cities appointments are filled the same day, frequently within 60–90 minutes.
Do my documents require witnesses?
Some documents require witnesses while others do not. Requirements depend on the type of document and the organization (lender, title company, attorney, court, or agency) requesting it. If you're unsure, choose "I'm not sure" on the booking form and we'll review before confirming your appointment.
Can Straub Document Group provide witnesses?
Yes, when available. Witnesses we provide are $50 each, with a maximum of two per appointment. If you bring your own witnesses, a $20 verification fee is charged per witness to verify acceptable government-issued identification, administer any required oath or affirmation, and record the witness information appropriately — it is not a charge for supplying a witness. Witness availability cannot be guaranteed for every appointment — we make every reasonable effort but recommend bringing your own if witnesses are critical.
Can I bring my own witnesses?
Yes. Each witness must be at least 18, be physically present at the signing, present valid government-issued photo identification, be willing to sign the document, and meet any legal or document-specific eligibility requirements.
Is there a fee if I bring my own witnesses?
Yes — a $20 verification fee is charged per witness. Because we are not supplying the witness, this covers verifying acceptable identification, administering any required oath or affirmation, and recording the witness information appropriately.
Can you come today?
Often, yes. Most Twin Cities appointments are filled the same day, frequently within a few hours. Submit a request or call and we'll confirm availability before anything is finalized.
What if I'm not sure which notarial act or service I need?
That's normal — most people aren't. Text or email a photo of the document ahead of time and we'll confirm the correct notarial act, whether witnesses are required, and what to have ready before we arrive.
How does payment work?
A deposit reserves your appointment and is credited toward the final invoice. The balance is invoiced after the signing is complete. Cards, cash, and checks are accepted — card payments include a $4.95 processing fee.
